Welcome to the first edition of 2012 Orchid NNS Newsletter. 
We do hope this will be an excellent chance to keep in touch with our Clients.   

Training Dates
All training will be held at The Gables.
Please remember we have a fully qualified trainer at Orchid and we can offer all kinds of training from mandatory training to skill levels and bereavement etc.  We really would like to help anyway we can, please just give us a call.

Shift Cancellation
We try to be as flexible as possible regarding shift cancellation. However payment of 2 hours rate will be charged if we have less than 12 hour’s notice. Recently staff have been turned away for a shift due to overbooking. We must reiterate that if this happens ‘Orchid’ will charge for 4 hours of the shift rate.
We ask you to understand we are trying to be fair to our staff.

Tip of the month

FLU AND INFECTION CONTROL

Make sure your staff know how to use their gloves!

• Check gloves before putting them on.  Never use gloves with holes or tears and check that they are not cracked or faded.
• Pull gloves on, making sure that they fit properly.  If you have long sleeves on your person, pull them over the cuffs.
• Take them off by pulling from the cuff, turning the glove inside out.
• Pull off the second glove while holding the first glove in the hand you are now pulling off so that the two gloves are folded together inside out.
• Dispose of them in the correct waste disposal container and wash your hands.
